The Ottawa County Road Commission’s seal coat program begins Monday, July 15. We intend to begin our work in Wright Township.
The entire process of putting stone on the ground should take 10 days, weather permitting. We will be working east to west, from Wright Township, toward Polkton Township, and then to Crockery Township.
We will be back at a later date to be announced this summer to do the second part of the process, which is to fog seal the newly chipped roads.
The seal coat treatment is one of our preventative maintenance tools, and can extend the service life of a road an extra 5-7 years.
