As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, some road work in Ottawa County is on hold due to a labor dispute between the Michigan Infrastructure Transportation Association (MITA) and the Operating Engineer’s Local 324.
The Ottawa County Road Commission isn’t a party to these negotiations.
The major projects impacted include:
- James Street — Resurfacing between U.S. 31 and Chicago Drive in Holland Township.
- Osborn/Bass/Warner — Resurfacing between 68th Avenue and 104th Avenue in Allendale and Robinson townships.
Cottonwood Drive reconstruction work between Baldwin and Bauer will also see a partial shutdown due to the labor dispute.
It will remain the contractor’s responsibility to keep work zones safe for the traveling public.
